So excited to discover this pendant from Visual Comfort and Bellacor Lighting. The oversized scale and lantern shape will be perfect hanging in the stairwell of our new house!
Ever since moving into my house I’ve been fantasizing about remodeling the kitchen and transforming what is now a small efficiency space into a large indoor/outdoor kitchen and living room combo. The foundation is there and I see the vision, just need to get started on the project!
In the meantime, whenever I see a kitchen I love it gets saved to my “home aspirations board”, and this one from Amber Interiors is the latest one for the board!
Then when you add this beautifully worn oriental rug and view windows over the sink, you have an inviting space I would never want to leave!
With a new year, new chapter and fresh attitude, what better place to start than a bedroom makeover! My heart and my head are taking me from a darker palette filled with Asian antiques and toile patterns, to a light and airy space anchored in this soothing blush and taupe color scheme.
This mirrored console from ArHaus Furniture is the statement piece I can build the room around, and will also hold my TV and entertainment system. I see it styled with two fabulous lamps, my jewelry & perfume tray and fresh orchids.
Then I just discovered this pink chair from Pine Cone Hill that will be a perfect accent piece to tie the room together, and is functional too!
And because all my design follows the rule of three, I’m combining these three bedding sets from Pottery Barn for one lux look that combines rich patterns, texture and soothing grey, taupe, blush and natural tones. Add the velvet, silk and linen duvets, coverlets and shams and it’s the ultimate mix of elegant and cozy. I’ll never want to get out of bed!
For the end of the bed, I love this tufted bench from Pottery Barn in grey linen with turned black legs. It not only completes the bed, but also gives me a place to toss my handbag and lay out the day’s wardrobe selection!
The next step will be the nightstands and lighting…any suggestions?!
I love a classic mirrored chest, but wonder if I’m over that look. This one from Horchow is gorgeous and would work nicely with my bedding, while providing a lot of great storage.
When it all comes together this bedroom makeover will have a bit of Hollywood glam mixed with modern elegance, for a cozy sanctuary and dreamy night’s sleep!
With temps falling and the smell of hearth fires burning, I feel a sudden and primal desire for holiday decorating!
I normally don’t start until after Thanksgiving because we traditionally spend the holiday with my family in Minneapolis. But this year following the loss of my mother, we’re all scattering to the wind…but Chloe and I are staying put right at home.
So YAY! I can make our house holiday ready NOW…starting with beautiful blooms like these freestanding amaryllis bulbs painted in holiday gold and silver. A genius concept. Thank you Trader Joes!
I put this arrangement together with plants from my favorite local flower store, Blooming Vase, and parsimon colored berry branches, also from from Trader Joes…
As my mother would say, “what texture!”.
And of course, I always like to echo the power of THREE in my design…in this case the plants & greenery, the books as accent pieces, and treasured Thai buddha from my fave home store in LA, Nell’s. Sadly the store is no longer there, the owners relocated to Chattanooga TN.
